Dell Shows World’s Thinnest Tablet with 3D Camera

This week the Intel Developer Forum is taking place in San Francisco and Dell used that opportunity to show of the thinnest tablet currently available. The Venue 8 7000 measures only 6 mm, which is even thinner than the new iPhone 6!

Earlier this month, Sony showed the new Xperia Z3 tablet (6.4 mm) and took away the world’s thinnest tablet crown from the Samsung Galaxy Tab S (6.8 mm).

The 8.4″ tablet from Dell has a resolution of 2560 x 1600, the company did not release a price but did say it would be available in November.

The Dell Venue 8 7000 has a unique feature, it comes with Intel RealSense which analysis images and can recognize the depth of objects. That means you can not only save your images in 3D and watch them on a 3D TV later for example, you will also be able to change the focus and measure objects / distances.
