Asus created a whole new market segment about 7 years ago when they launched the first netbook called EeePC. It was the product which propelled Asus into becoming a giant player in the notebook market. Tablets took most of that market but Asus believes now is the time to bring back a netbook so they have revealed the EeeBook at IFA in Berlin.
The 11.6″ device will come in four different colors as you can see from the official picture. The display has a resolution of 1,366 x 768. The EeeBook has an Intel Atom processor, 2GB of RAM and either 32 or 64 GB of storage. According to Asus, the battery life is 12 hours
Chromebooks have recently sold in millions and Asus is going after that market, competing directly on price as well. The EeeBook will be available within the next month, priced at $199.
