WhatsApp (acquired by Facebook for $12 billion earlier this year) continues to grow in popularity across the globe. CEO Jan Koum announced on Twitter that the messaging app now has 600 million active users.
That means the company has won 200 million new users this year. This time around no numbers were published when it comes to the number of pictures and video sent. In April WhatsApp users sent 700 million pictures and 100 million videos every day!
The two biggest countries for WhatApp are Brazil with about 50 million users and Germany with over 30 million.
At this pace, WhatsApp should soon break the billion user mark.
