Twitter will improve policies after Robin Williams’s daugther was abused

Zelda Williams was abused on Twitter after the death of her father Robin Williams. The company has now closed a number of accounts and are reviewing their policies.

“We will not tolerate abuse of this nature on Twitter. We are in the process of evaluating how we can further improve our policies to better handle tragic situations like this one,” Del Harvey, Vice President of Trust and Safety said.

Zelda Williams posted a statement on her Tumblr blog in which she responded to some of the abuse she had received: “As for those who are sending negativity, know that some small, giggling part of him is sending a flock of pigeons to your house to poop on your car. Right after you’ve had it washed. After all, he loved to laugh too.”

Zelda Williams also announced that she will stop using Twitter.
