Justin.tv shuts down – part of Deal with Google to acquire Twitch?

At the end of July we wrote about Google having agreed to acquire Twitch.tv for $1 billion.

Now the company has announced that they are closing Justin.tv which is part of the Twitch Interactive Group.

When Justin.tv started back in 2007 they really innovated the live-streaming. The gaming streams on the site were growing so quickly that the company decided in 2011 to open Twitch.tv. With that though the numbers of Justin.tv started to decrease and more and more resources were shifted to Twitch.tv

The complete closing of Justin.tv though could be part of the deal with Google.
