Sony to invest big when it comes to Selfies

Earlier this month we wrote about the Xperia C3 which Sony is calling the selfie-smartphone as it boasts a 5MP front camera.

The company is determined to capitalize on the selfie boom, according to Reuters they are now going to invest $345 million in image sensors for smartphones and tablets.

This is not just important for their own smartphone and tablet business, they are also looking to keep and increase their OEM revenue. Currently Sony is supplying image sensors to Apple for example.
