Samsung has launched a new 3.5” smartphone, the Galaxy Young 2 with the intend to win back market share especially in emerging markets like India.
Samsung said it is the ideal smartphone for users who focus on essential features and usability, which basically means it doesn’t have great specs or features. Here is an overview of what you get:
- 3.5” HGVA display
- 320×480 resolution
- 1.0 GHz processor
- 4GB storage (expansion to 32GB possible via the microSD slot)
- 512 MB RAM
- 3-megapixel camera
- Dual SIM
Samsung is also going to bundle the phone with a number of games.
The Young 2 is just not good enough in our opinion to win back market share in this segment. The main competitor here is the Moto E which has a bigger and better display (4.3”, 540 x 960), a better camera (5-megapixel), a better processor and more RAM.
