A simple “YO” is apparently worth $1million

The messaging App YO which allows users to send a single word (recorded) to their friends has raised over $1 million from investors.

It is available for both Android and iOS and currently has over 50,000 users which have sent about 4 million “YOs”.

The app apparently only took 8 hours to build, the co-founder however told the New York Times he thinks it has a lot of potential beyond that:

“People think it’s just an app that says ‘Yo.’ But it’s really not,” “We like to call it context-based messaging. You understand by the context what is being said.”

We are not really convinced…
